Gabon: Prisoners living in a "slum" prison in unfathomable conditions
The Observers is a collaborative project that includes both a website and a weekly TV show, all based on amateur content.

He did not want to tell us about it himself because he was afraid he’d face retribution. But we have another Observer in Gabon who has also spent time in the prison. He says it’s like a slum. In the biggest prison of Gabon's capital, the cells are overcrowded, and sanitary conditions are terrible: diseases such as HIV or tuberculosis spread fast, and people are living amongside rubbish. The Observers program brings you the best amateur images from around the world, all verified by France 24 journalists.
